He has also written for The Washington Post, The New York Post, New York Magazine and The Oregonian. His reporting has freed from prison a man wrongfully convicted of murder and another time helped send a corrupt politician to jail.Over the years he has interviewed numerous authors including Norman Mailer, Pete Hamill and John Irving.
